I’m going to put it out there… recovering from a surgery is way easier than parenting. I literally had no parenting duties today. I did what I could to help but Nick did most of it and it was bliss. Yes I’m in a bit of pain, but it was still one of the most relaxing days of my life. The pain is supposed to get worse so we will see if my thoughts change in another couple of days but as for now I’m really enjoying laying around resting. It’s been a hot minute. I also had custard for breakfast and ice cream for lunch which was so great. I almost feel guilty about this recovery situation… people are checking in and seeing how I am but I’m having the time of my life. Where as Nick is having to take time off work and do everything in terms of the kids routine and no one cares. It is so hard on a parent when the other parent is sick. I take my hat off to single mums and dads, they are superhero’s I swear. Now I’m going to sleep because I’m so dosed up on pain meds and my eyes keep shutting.
