About Us

Tara Pavlovic-Shepherdson has worked in childcare for over 12 years and is passionate about kids and creativity. After school she studied childcare then worked in childcare centres in Sydney, graduating to private nannying which she really loved. She’s worked with kids of all ages from babies to teenagers and spent many happy hours reading aloud to them. She’s also spent a lot of time chasing around children who really didn’t want to put sunscreen on their noses or put on any clothes.

Having grown up under the harsh Australian sun herself, Tara knows just how important it is to be sunsafe, so she wanted to help parents get kids to understand that sunburn really isn’t any fun. And Tara loves fun and food. Lots of both! She reckons life is meant to be enjoyed and loves to make people laugh.

In her new book The Adventures of Willy and his Sunburnt Bum! Tara makes sunscreen and sun safety fun, sharing an hilarious adventure about a little boy called Willy who hates clothes and sunscreen in equal measure, but still wants to play outside. He learns his lesson the hard way.

“Hopefully children will have fun and laugh at the story, but also learn about the importance of sun-safety, and not run so fast next time someone tries to put sunscreen on their noses,” says Tara.
