Day 6

Paddy did not sleep well.

He ended up with Nick in the spare room and I heard him scream about 5 times through the night as if there were an axe murderer in the room. However, his eyes seemed okay this morning and he woke up happy enough. Its school photo day so I decided to send him to day-care. We had one of the worst drop offs we have had in a while and I feel physically ill as I say goodbye while he screams mummy and reaches out for me in desperation. So many thoughts are running through my head. Maybe he isn’t well!? Have I just sent a sick child to day-care?! Am I a bad parent?! I checked in soon after drop off and he was okay thank God.

I put Edi-Rae down for her first nap and instead of napping myself I decided to rearrange the furniture in the loungeroom (as you do when you are exhausted with absolutely no time to yourself). Once that was done I washed my hair for the first time in a week and then after a 2 hour nap little miss was awake and ready for her bottle. I am super excited today as well because I’m booked in for some antiwrinkle injections at 1:30 so I can finally sort this haggard face out. Last time I was booked in for a facial and took Edi-Rae she vomited all over herself and the pram when I got her out of the car so I had to cancel the appointment while I was in the carpark and drive half an hour back home while she vomited more all through the car. Fingers crossed today runs smoother.

We set up in the sun outside and my friend popped in to say hello. Edi-Rae seemed a bit unsettled so I offered her some food which she refused which is so weird for her.  We saw Nick pull up outside which was also weird because he is never home this early. I said to my friend “If he is here getting golf clubs I’m going to have to bite my tongue”. He walked in and I said “oh Hi babe! What are you doing? Are you here to have Edi-Rae for an hour so I can go to my appointment alone?” and he said “Nah I’m here to get my golf clubs, she is all yours”. I’m surprised my tongue didn’t bleed I was biting it that hard.

Nick then walked over to say hello to Edi-Rae and she looks up at him and projectile vomited EVERYWHERE. We looked at each other and said FUCK really loud. Then we go to help her and off she goes again. At least I finally know now why she was whinging and not hungry. Nick is off stomping around because it’s just clicked that he no longer needs his clubs because he will be staying home with her and I will be going to my appointment alone now. We both instantly feel sick. Have we got gastro too? Or are we just feeling sick because we have had to deal with vomit? We had a gastro house 2 weeks ago… surely not again so soon!?

Also my friend is still here at this point and she let Nick and I know that she is probably never going to have children which is a pretty fair comment.

I had my appointment which was amazing. I came home and Edi-Rae is asleep in bed while Nick is on the couch resting because he has tummy cramps and feels sick. Now we wait…
